Only if the selected occupation’s qualification rule accepts the particular credential. Start with the Appendix 2 entry, then compare the degree and work proposal to it.
Use the listed entry as the anchor
A hiring manager may see broad value in a business degree, but TN uses the qualification attached to the claimed profession. Read the entry word for word, identify its degree, licence, or experience alternative, and determine whether the academic subject and level fit that language. Then test the duties.
An employer cannot transform general commercial support into a listed professional occupation simply by calling it strategy work. Supply the transcript or credential record where useful, a clear duty breakdown, and an explanation of how the applicant will apply the required professional preparation. If a foreign education needs evaluation, make its scope and assumptions visible.
The assessment should not quietly substitute years of practical success for a credential when the entry does not provide that alternative. It is also wise to separate the professional question from any licensing question. A degree may establish the immigration qualification while a state rule still limits independent practice, signature authority, or use of a protected title.
The goal is a precise, evidence-based match, not the most flattering label on the employment offer. Before committing to a title, compare several genuine work examples with the selected occupation and keep that comparison with the file. This makes later changes visible.
If the employer expects a different mix of tasks after hiring, that change should be assessed on its own facts, not dismissed as ordinary flexibility.
