A new route.Know the details.

The official Gold Card process must be described by its current government instructions. It is not a conventional visa, not an EB-5 investment, and not a government gift to the applicant. The central transaction is a payment by the applicant to the U.S. government under the official process. Eligibility, vetting, payment sequence, and any immigrant-category step must be verified at the official source when action is contemplated. Do not rely on third-party summaries, claimed shortcuts, or a business sponsor’s assurance when an official instruction says otherwise.

Start with the GOLD CARD eligibility and application overview

01

Use the official description

Hypothetical example: a private consultant calls the program an “investment visa” and predicts a return. That language should be set aside. Preserve the current official program page and confirm the stated payment recipient, amount, eligibility criteria, and process directly before acting. A private description cannot change the character of the government process. Official program information should be treated as dynamic. A current government page may describe eligibility, vetting, payment, family treatment, or a connection to another immigration category differently from older commentary. Save the version consulted and confirm the payment recipient before a transfer. The relevant payment is made by the applicant to the U.S. government; calling it an investment, refundable deposit, or benefit issued by the government would be inaccurate unless the official instructions expressly say otherwise.

02

Identify the actual payer and recipient

The applicant’s payment to the U.S. government should be recorded as such. It should not be relabelled as a purchase of equity, a refundable escrow deposit, or a payment made by the government for the applicant. If a relative, employer, or company is involved in funding, document the truthful private arrangement and the applicant’s own role. Funding deserves the same honesty required for any significant government process. If the applicant uses personal savings, sale proceeds, a loan, a gift, or employer support, preserve the documents that identify the source, legal rights, and transfers. The fact that someone else assists financially does not change who the applicant is or confer eligibility on a person outside the official rules. Never use a private agreement to misdescribe the government payment or to promise an immigration result.

03

Separate the immigration category question

The Gold Card concept does not eliminate any stated underlying immigration requirements, admissibility review, or visa-availability issue. An applicant should confirm how the official program connects to any relevant immigrant category rather than assuming a payment alone grants residence, employment permission, or citizenship. The program must not be used as a shortcut around admissibility, identity review, visa availability, or the distinct requirements of any linked immigration category. A submission, payment, press report, or intermediary conversation is not an authorization to enter, reside, or take up employment. Keep relocation and employment arrangements contingent until verified government instructions and individual results support them. Fraud-resistant practice means using government domains, preserving receipts, and declining requests to route funds through unofficial channels.

04

Protect against unofficial payment routes

Before any transfer, verify the government domain, payment instructions, account recipient, and communication channel. Save dated copies of official pages and receipts. Urgency, a promise of preferential access, or a request for payment to an intermediary are reasons to pause and confirm the instruction from the official source. Verify every instruction again immediately before action.

05

Use the current official financial terms

After vetting when instructed, gifts are US$1 million for an individual principal or US$2 million corporately; each eligible included spouse or child adds US$1 million and processing. The official FAQ says that, as appropriately determined by the agencies and subject to availability, a successful applicant receives lawful permanent resident status as an EB-1 or EB-2 visa holder. The program does not waive inadmissibility, so a prior refusal, a criminal matter, a misrepresentation finding, or an immigration violation remains what it was before any fee was paid. Current terms include 1% annual maintenance and a 5% transfer fee with a new background check; reuse of a prior gift for a new employee does not guarantee replacement approval. The applicant must be eligible for the immigrant classification the authorities assign, must pass background vetting, must be admissible to the United States and must have a visa number available.
