Read the general professional work overview
A TN package is strongest when the citizenship, professional category, credentials, employer arrangement, duties, and temporary purpose agree. Start with the actual job and add documents that prove each fact instead of collecting generic papers.
Make a fact-to-document list
Hypothetical example: the offer names a professional role but omits the client location, while the scope describes duties at a U.S. customer. List the fact, its document, its date, and its source. The offer can prove terms of employment; a statement of work can explain site duties; neither should claim facts outside the signer’s knowledge.
Read the selected USMCA profession carefully
The occupation entry controls which qualification is relevant. Assemble the degree, transcript, licence, experience record, or other material that the entry calls for, then compare it with the real duties. Do not use a related academic subject as a substitute for the stated qualification without support. Where an evaluation is needed, retain the underlying credential as well as the report.
Disclose arrangement and ownership facts
Identify the legal employer, receiving business, pay source, supervisor, length of assignment, and any ownership interest. A third-party placement can be explained, but it must not obscure a sole or controlling interest in the U.S. enterprise that would make the arrangement self-employment. Certified translations and consistent dates make the record easier to assess. Also review names, dates, pay terms, and location across the support letter and attached materials. A mismatch may have an innocent explanation, such as a recent reorganization or a client address, but it should be clarified in the record. Do not edit an original document to make the story simpler. Describe which party directs the activity, whether the work is temporary, and how the professional duties relate to the credentials. The selected procedure may require particular formatting or evidence; check the current official instruction before relying on a checklist. Before finalizing, read the complete package in the order a reviewer might encounter it. Check that the legal employer name, client name, duty list, compensation, credential, and dates do not conflict. A concise cover index can point to the evidence but should not replace it. If a document is conditional or unavailable, say so. That honest presentation gives the reviewer a usable basis to assess the temporary professional assignment. Include passport identity pages and make sure the credential name, employment name, and any prior name records can be reconciled. When an evaluation or translation is used, retain both its certification and the original-language document. A complete record makes it possible to see whether the proposed category is supported without relying on informal oral explanation. The review should also confirm that the applicant is not being asked to undertake services outside the described professional role. If the client changes the scope, obtain the revised description and reconsider the category before relying on an earlier package.
